New registrants: if you try to register you will get a message that we are not accepting new members. Due to the limitations of this forum software which is not designed to deal with incessant CIA harrassment, we have no alternative but to disable automatic registration, and then we can't change this automatic message. Your account needs to be created by admin before you can post in the forums. Because otherwise, almost all registrants are CIA sock puppets. To get a forum account you need to send a brief presentation email to loohanforum at gee mail dot com, also suggesting a user name. Then we can enable you manually. But before you even do that, take a look around the forum and my site and decide whether you REALLY WANT to join/post, before you jack us around. Most seemingly genuine people who apply fail to even ever log in once to change their password after we go through the work of creating a membership for them. Then we must quickly delete their account again lest the CIA has intercepted their temporary password. And of the few who do change their password, most still never post. Maybe they realize we are too weird for them, I don't know. They get real quiet, never to be heard from again.

GLOSSARY: Sometimes unusual terminology or abbreviations are used that with some luck you might find defined here.

I get water all over the states from tap out of truck stops... Refill my plastic gallon jugs. I feel GREAT! Lol, I do use a filter I bought at Wal-Mart called Zero or something. Supposed to bring the TDS (total dissolved solids) to zero. If you buy the big one you get a free TDS meter that will tell you truck stops tap is 150-250 TDS... After filtering, it brings it to 0-6. Supposed to replace filter when it gets to 6. I get free water and filter it is what it boils down to. Or vaporizes. smile

Dunno if it reduces fluoride and chlorine, but water tastes fine to me. Odorless and tasteless after first couple goes in a new filter..

FYI there is a sink next to the coffee machines at most every truck stop. I never get hassled.

Q. Does the ZeroWater filter remove Fluoride?
A. ZeroWater filters are not certified for the reduction of fluoride however fluoride is an inorganic compound. The TDS meter is designed to detect inorganic compounds. Fluoride levels in water are usually around 2 to 4 ppm, which will show up on the meter as 002 to 004. So when filtered water reads 000 it is not likely that fluoride is present in water.

They seem a bit challenged in terms of language or science or something tho:
Q. Does the filter remove PVC?
A. PVC is a type of plastic and doesn't leach out of the plastic into our system. Since our system is certified by NSF and has passed a leach test, there can't be any plastic particles in our water.

Re: steam using tap water

Pepper, still avoid fluoride in tap.. Apparently when my TDS meter reads 0, there's nothing in it. Sometimes I'll notice these fibers though... Possibly from the filter, yet it don't read on the meter being that they are tiny little fibers..

Someone told me about these, and how Iowa has banned them from selling here(I'm currently in Iowa...) www.berkeyfilters.com/

Would like to know if that pricing is reasonable... Jeez.
