Are these supposed to be massive amalgam caps on a 6-yro boy who should be in the process of losing his milk teeth?

He's hip to lip manipulations. Sticking out lower jaw? Funny long diagonal tooth which is much longer than in previous pic seems caught on upper lip.
Which would mean he was significantly younger in the amalgam pic. Do dentists really stuff that much amalgam into little kids?
