Does that look like a naval operation? The American military is notoriously as wasteful of resources as possible. Do you really think they would economize by putting so many sailors on a rubber dinghy in the open sea? To pull out a big heavy wet mass of plastic and cruise back with it? No, they would deploy a substantial ship with a crane and dozens of personnel.

Someone who has worked for USAF in the Little Rock AFB told me that the Air Farce has lodgings for pilots in training from other locations. The swank apartments have all the trimmings: dishwashers, laundry machines, fridges, etc. Often the pilots only stay there very briefly, but policy is that all the appliances have to be discarded and replaced after each visitor. So workers are paid to take out all the appliances, even if they have never been used once and still have the plastic and stickers on them, and replace them with more new ones.
The removed appliances are trucked to some huge USAF acreage where they are used for target practice, and blown up, freon and all.
I know this individual fairly well and he is not given to tall tales.
