Then he pops straight up vertically, having abruptly lost all traces of forward momentum.
Neither vehicle slows down the slightest bit before impact. Pretty sure this is CGI-modified.

In action movies and old TV shows i've seen, often car chases (yawn) result in cars hitting parked cars and overturning airborne after they ride up one side of their rear ends, presumably with the aid of hidden ramps. Always looks so fake.
