New registrants: if you try to register you will get a message that we are not accepting new members. Due to the limitations of this forum software which is not designed to deal with incessant CIA harrassment, we have no alternative but to disable automatic registration, and then we can't change this automatic message. Your account needs to be created by admin before you can post in the forums. Because otherwise, almost all registrants are CIA sock puppets. To get a forum account you need to send a brief presentation email to loohanforum at gee mail dot com, also suggesting a user name. Then we can enable you manually. But before you even do that, take a look around the forum and my site and decide whether you REALLY WANT to join/post, before you jack us around. Most seemingly genuine people who apply fail to even ever log in once to change their password after we go through the work of creating a membership for them. Then we must quickly delete their account again lest the CIA has intercepted their temporary password. And of the few who do change their password, most still never post. Maybe they realize we are too weird for them, I don't know. They get real quiet, never to be heard from again.

GLOSSARY: Sometimes unusual terminology or abbreviations are used that with some luck you might find defined here.

Search Engine

The forum DOES have a search engine. I don't know if i was the only one so blind, but i never noticed it b4. I was looking about in vain for a little white textbox, but the engine is just a link with the word Search. It can be found with a page search (Ctrl+F) if nothing else.

Re: Search Engine

What sucks about it is, it only tells you which thread a word is on, not which page. So if the thread is 15 pages long...

For this reason, i am trying freefind, a 3rd party search engine which works well on my site.

In fact, i have it on my HD and it works. I'll upload it as soon as i can (site is down).
Andrea, this search engine is in HTML. Is there a way to stick it on this site?

Re: Search Engine

not sure if it will work completely, it seems it has a size limit
Your site has been partly indexed.

To increase your size limit, either

   1) contact upgrade.support@freefind.com to request a
      free increase

    or

   2) subscribe to the ad-free version -- to view available
plans, press the "subscribe" tab in the Control
      Center at  http://www.freefind.com/control.html

still figuring it out

Re: Search Engine

You mean u got another instance of this and had them re-index the site separately? I already had the code on my HD and have been using the search engine from there.

AFAIK site is completely spidered on my version. I will email it to u.

Your site has been spidered.

Our search engine has finished indexing your site:

E-mail          : loohan......

Re: Search Engine

I've tested it, it does point out to the post, with correct page number.
but it will be wonderful if it can also link to the correct entry so to scroll down the page to the right message and maybe underline the search word.

this is possible but I need to mod the original search engine... I need time..

Not real important, as one can simply press F3 when one gets to the page.
