New registrants: if you try to register you will get a message that we are not accepting new members. Due to the limitations of this forum software which is not designed to deal with incessant CIA harrassment, we have no alternative but to disable automatic registration, and then we can't change this automatic message. Your account needs to be created by admin before you can post in the forums. Because otherwise, almost all registrants are CIA sock puppets. To get a forum account you need to send a brief presentation email to loohanforum at gee mail dot com, also suggesting a user name. Then we can enable you manually. But before you even do that, take a look around the forum and my site and decide whether you REALLY WANT to join/post, before you jack us around. Most seemingly genuine people who apply fail to even ever log in once to change their password after we go through the work of creating a membership for them. Then we must quickly delete their account again lest the CIA has intercepted their temporary password. And of the few who do change their password, most still never post. Maybe they realize we are too weird for them, I don't know. They get real quiet, never to be heard from again.

GLOSSARY: Sometimes unusual terminology or abbreviations are used that with some luck you might find defined here.

food irradiation in US labeled

I only watched the first 1/2 minute of
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJxwJby86fM
but he seems to be the only source of the info on the web that a label is mandated for irradiated foods : EMP-068. I did a search. A lot of hits come up about irradiation but not much about the label.
https://www.fda.gov/food/buy-store-serv … -need-know
At the very bottom it does discretely mention:

How Will I Know if My Food Has Been Irradiated?

The FDA requires that irradiated foods bear the international symbol for irradiation. Look for the Radura symbol along with the statement “Treated with radiation” or “Treated by irradiation” on the food label. Bulk foods, such as fruits and vegetables, are required to be individually labeled or to have a label next to the sale container. The FDA does not require that individual ingredients in multi-ingredient foods (e.g., spices) be labeled.

But no pic or mention of the EMP-068.
The only image of the label on google seems to be captured from the vid and it is impossible to post as the super-long URL won't work, EVEN AFTER shortening it thru tinyurl.com.

The label will say EMP-068.

Irradiation is nothing new. I remember maybe 20 years ago i had to peel garlic at the bakery where i worked. We got a box of Chinese garlic that would not sprout at all even after several months, just rot. Of course that might have been from a chlorine bath, i dunno.

I suspect the mail gets irradiated too sometimes. I once ordered some tulsi seed from overseas which had 0% germination although i think the vendor was honest. Also a friend once sent me some, ahem, *medicinal* seeds from Europe that had 0% germination.
