Lieutenant Tracy McCray is a native San Franciscan and a former PAL participant in her youth. Growing up in public housing (Westside Courts) in the Richmond District, she furthered her love of sports by playing on various PAL sports teams at her neighborhood Recreation Center, Hamilton Gym and other spots throughout the City.

Growing up she worked as a Recreation Director for SF Rec & Park working closely with the city’s youth population as well as the announcer/scorekeeper/clock operator for the San Francisco Pro-Am Basketball League. 

She is currently the Senior Sergeant at Bayview Police Station overseeing the Housing Unit while also serving as the Field Training Coordinator as well as representing her fellow officers on the Board of Directors for the SFPOA.  She holds a B.A. in Sociology from San Francisco State University. Prior to coming into the SFPD, she served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer.
