I can't find the post but a few days ago i excoriated the CIA for saying "smarter than me".

It goes to show how out of touch i am with contemporary times.

That article pretty much puts me in my place. It's been a few decades since i went to school.

It used to be the case that educated native speakers would say "You are smarter than I" and just elide (delete) the "am". But those were the days when some people used "whom", as in "Whom did you give it to?" or "To whom did you give it?"

Man, double whammy. I feel so ancient now.
