Does anyone know whether a Moto g Pure (XT2163DL) MOTOROLA phone received from Tracfone can be hacked to use with other providers?
I used to have a Tracfone which was very inexpensive to have around for emergencies etc. I almost always had it turned off. Then they said my phone was obsolete and they would replace it for free with this phone. I returned the 1st replacement i got because its software was all messed up and it could not be activated. After many weeks they sent a 2nd one which may or may not be any better; it too seems unable to even sniff out a cell or wifi connection.
The phone lists for $60 on their site but they also deleted my account which had well over $100 worth of undelivered service. They refuse to refund or discuss the matter, so i can no longer do business with them. I have spent hours getting jacked around and blown off by them.
Incidentally this is part of the Mandatory Smartphone Conspiracy. My original phone was not that smart and i got a cheaper rate which is no longer available. I'm not sure this phone even really turns off, and the battery is not easy to get to like the first phone i had.

The phones have for many years been having 2 batteries, one that can be seen and changed, and 1 hidden (well, if you break the phone you can find it of course).
Because they found out that some people was taking out the battery (People with EMF symptoms, people against big brother snooping, and of course so-called criminal organizations, no, not the governments or CIA, but bikers, and gangs).
I have a low radiating Samsung (3g probably) from 15 years ago that I have not used for years, it was always turned off, and only used it for SMS messages that I checked once a day.
I don't know if it works today though, out of nowhere, they changed the so-called Sim card code, and I have not look into it since (and I don't miss it).
You should check for what they call SAR readings.

A bit late but,
I looked around and closest to hacking is to unlock it with sim unlocker card that you can find on ebay for example:
https://www.ebay.com/b/Sim-Unlock/29778/bn_7023301090
BUT! i couldn't find your model anywhere on list of claims on what it would work so i guess this method won't work, also seems like scam
I checked some others methods and it's impossible to save money in this situtation and any method found online is potential scam.
In Europe phone providers are less scummy and code to unlock this(PIN ? Can't recall specific name) for other providers is on card itself, though i can't claim its in all of Europe as i have no way to know.
Literally the only way i though about, that would cost you nothing is to dowse the number itself and try to input it but it would block phone completely if you fail a few times if i recall. A bit busy at the moment might add something useful later.

I see people are selling this type of phone on eBay. It should work with a Tracfone subscription. Maybe i can get $50 for it.
Anyone wanna buy a Tracfone? Lovely outfit to do business with.

One weird thing about this phone. The first such they sent me, i could not detect the phone network NOR wifi with it. I even turned on my modem wifi to test it.
I never had a problem connecting with the old phone.
There was some other issue with it as well. OS seemed caput. So, after a bunch of hassle and BS they eventually let me return it for replacement. Replacement took many many weeks. But the new phone also does not detect any connections. Is this normal for a smartphone that does not have any time bought for it yet?
