New registrants: if you try to register you will get a message that we are not accepting new members. Due to the limitations of this forum software which is not designed to deal with incessant CIA harrassment, we have no alternative but to disable automatic registration, and then we can't change this automatic message. Your account needs to be created by admin before you can post in the forums. Because otherwise, almost all registrants are CIA sock puppets. To get a forum account you need to send a brief presentation email to loohanforum at gee mail dot com, also suggesting a user name. Then we can enable you manually. But before you even do that, take a look around the forum and my site and decide whether you REALLY WANT to join/post, before you jack us around. Most seemingly genuine people who apply fail to even ever log in once to change their password after we go through the work of creating a membership for them. Then we must quickly delete their account again lest the CIA has intercepted their temporary password. And of the few who do change their password, most still never post. Maybe they realize we are too weird for them, I don't know. They get real quiet, never to be heard from again.

polyester resin brand?

I have a bunch of molds like these:

stick-mold.jpg

and they work fine with epoxy for a couple uses, but then stick more and more (despite lube) until after several uses, it takes a huge effort to remove each piece from the mold. So much so that i stopped making them a while back.

But i understand that these molds work fine with polyester resin.

Not having poured poly in several years, i am wondering what to buy. I could buy expensive casting resin and pay for $hipping. Or i could go buy some Bondo or other brittle crap on the cheap at Home Depot maybe. Or maybe there is a better grade available at stores?
What are people in the US finding to be a good buy on poly these days?

Today I met guy who is casting climbing holds with HQ polyester
http://www.pccrusa.com/ENG/Homepage.aspx

He is doing it for these companies:

http://www.bleaustone.com/

http://www.lapisholds.com/en/about-brand

http://www.23holds.com/en/about-brand

Interesting was that when I came there, sky obviously started to open, seemed the allies started to program the resin and the silica compounds in products. In 15 min all sky was clear blue and sunny, just before was completely closed.
That was here:
https://www.google.si/maps/place/Dolenj … 73f8?hl=sl

maybe from now next holds items will be orgonites as well smile
The place is very close to military air base.

So I've got free samples of two different density of Polynt resin (I never used it before), he donated me also a bottle of accelerator, few pigments, and will cast him an unit of course smile

Price for larger quantity he gets is about 2,50-3,50€ per liter (or kg, not sure), so if will work fine for me I can buy from him for the same price.

Re: polyester resin brand?

The guy says he has a contract with the companies he works for, so I understood they also organize a supplier, he gets it the same brand produced in France. He order few times a year larger amounts, so he gets it by this price, otherwise is usually 10-15€ in retail.

There is also producer in Slovenia http://www.helios.si/eng/sales-programm … tic-resins
I usually use this one, the 5 liter barrel is around 40€, but should be cheaper in larger amounts, so I was looking for some who is working with it and buying larger amounts.

The quality of Polynt is maybe better, because he is making also bags and masks for motorcycles.
The Cobalt hardener is already mixed in.

Re: polyester resin brand?

I pay 35 euros 5 liters with catalyzer locally here so it is 7 euros at liter.
but if that resin is better and clear, for 40euros shipped why not, but shipping is a problem of euros on another note..

maybe is there someone who has some bigger business using resin, once we got it at some small private plumber company, also same cheap... usually they have more they can use, depend also on how person is open to help you.
I explained simply that guy in positive, and a bit funny way... he was open enough, although he was maybe thinking I'm a bit harmless crazy smile

Yes, some time ago I was gifting that river a lot,  but maybe stream moved it...looks I have full time job to do plenty of stuff smile

Today I tried sample resins, one was more liquid and very fast curing, second was more thick and normal fast, hazy blue at start...clarity of both came out a bit amber clear...but it feels very solid and even, much better than one I was using before...tomorrow go for more.

But had some issues around, felt something all the time try to interrupt intensively, but think at the end stopped.
Now feels latest programming came out more deep protective and cooling.
