Charlotte Gainsbourg became a scandalous talking point as a preteen for releasing a controversial duet with her father Serge.

'Lemon Incest' caused uproar in France and grabbed headlines in other parts of the world not just for its lyrics but its shocking video.

The complaints only resulted in more sales for Serge's album.

Serge Gainsbourg courted controversy throughout most of his career but is most well known for his notorious song Je T’aime … Moi Non Plus.

It brought worldwide outrage when released in 1969 and has generally become known as the song with the organs and a woman having an orgasm. The woman moaning on the track is Charlotte's mother Jane Birkin. 

Gainsbourg's most successful song by far, Je T’aime … Moi Non Plus was number one throughout Europe and the first UK number one to be sung in another language.

Despite selling millions, it was deemed too raunchy for radio and received a BBC ban for its explicit content, also making it the first UK number one to be banned by the BBC.

Other controversial moments for Serge included telling Whitney Houston he wanted 'to fuck her' on French prime time TV, writing suggestive songs for 18-year-old female singers, and dating the already married Brigitte Bardot.

THE KILLER VIRUS MAY HAVE COME FROM BATS, SCIENTISTS SAY

The killer coronavirus sweeping across the world may have come from bats, scientists have said.

Researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the People's Liberation Army and Institut Pasteur of Shanghai came to the conclusion.

In a statement, the team said: 'The Wuhan coronavirus' natural host could be bats… but between bats and humans there may be an unknown intermediate.

And just yesterday they were eating bats.
