Odd thing happened to this battery that was running my protective 30kHz wearable mobius device.
No leakages but it looks like someone ran a blowtorch along it in a couple places. Outer skin only is split in 2 places, and wrinkly overall. Battery is totally dead, 0.01V but i don't know if its lifespan was curtailed.

usually this happens when you try to recharge non rechargeable batteries
but it seems like in some edge as if someone has used a cutter.. ??

It is possible. On the clip-on battery connector, the big terminal is large enough to span the terminals on the battery.
I have the battery and coil in a padded nylon belt pouch. I had it in bed with me. I thought it was clipped on but maybe i rolled over and disconnected it inadvertently. In the morning i found the battery was already disconnected.
Something to be aware of. Luckily it did not rupture and blow hot chemicals out.
Now when not in use i store the battery away from the clip-on connector.
