So I have found an interesting article about them.
I have knew about them reading a book (Magic and Mystery in Tibet) of a French explorer, that one day saw one of them. a real rarity
They just run, for 48 hours up to 200 miles no stop.
they bounce one step and another from the earth, always looking up, and doing a mantra while running.
to reach this level, they seclude them self for 3 years, 3 months 3 weeks and 3 days, without meeting anyone and receiving food in front of their doors, in caves.
they continually sits, do a mantra, breath exercies, and jump without using hands from sitting cross legs position.
this bring them enlightenment and after, they can run with incredible powers.
the French explorer also saw once one of them in the forest, with another monk, they soon jumped away hiding in the forest. Problem is one of them was full of heavy chains, and he jumped in a way that was not possible from our point of view.
Probably the chain are used to give them extra weight to not lift away in the sky when they rest....
this is very fascinating for me. I wonder a lot about them.

I wonder also how much presence of Ssers is in monks in Nepal and Tibet.
in the book there are stories of shapeshifters and demons. So probably a good amount of presence?

Consider the sources of your info.
Yeah, i read Alexandra David-Neel's stuff decades ago. I also read where James Blofled claimed he met with her in a particular town somewhere once, and later read in her books her claim that she was elsewhere at the time.
And i use the word "her" loosely:
If anyone remembers the name of the young lama protege' she brought back with her, we can look him up too. Would be interesting if he was a she.
And about that runner mag you linked to, when i first opened link i saw this guy:
Mag has repty-ass vibe.
I keep trying to cure people of naivete...
