Sherlock does some funny hand jive with one gloved hand. This is not in a shown context of a normal act of taking off both gloves. It looks very deliberate.
I suspect the one-glove thing to be a gay sign, but also, there is emphasis of bending the ring finger at the 2nd knuckle more than the other fingers.
For that matter, i wonder what the significance might be of the ring.
He bends that knuckle again from 8:32 to 8:35. And 8:42 to 8:48, along with an M sign.
I have seen similar signs before, but have not been able to find it explained online.

That Sherlock vid also has some awesome stuff at 11:17 for about 6 seconds. He rolls a shot glass back and forth with a Twisted M. And again at 11:30, and 11:40 for a while.

i myself, have a lighter manifestation of this syndrome. I can still get the overall extension of the ring finger, but i have it on both hands and can be seen at my palms, where a overgrowth of the tendons is perceptible.

I don't do this .
But the finger is going eventually curl in if the the tendon calcifies more.

One thing is for sure , if someone have it at the phase that the finger is curled , they can not extend it no more. So , i would say , if they only do it sometimes , it's not the condition, and probably they're hand jiving intentionally.
