I arrived in VA today but my laptop is acting weird. I can edit a page and upload it, but the edit won't show.
I can delete old versions of the page on my HD and site, and read the new version on my HD, and upload it, but only the nonexistent old version uploads. No matter how much i try.
Anyway, had a good trip, no stalking, almost no attacks, did a bunch of serious busting.

wow!
how is going the hive mind?
for the update issue, sounds like an ftp client problem. maybe try another one or just update the client to latest version?

HM about as usual, gradually weakening.
There is a more recent version of FileZilla but the Ubuntu Software Center only offers the older version, and FileZilla only provides a file that requires an adept Ubuntu hacker to install.
I might try a different FTP client. Or upload from my mom's computer.

Update: Mordok got me fixed up on instructions to install the new FZ. And then i "uploaded" a version of this month's blog that was twice as big, yet it still won't show up online.

Truly bizarre.
I can upload a txt file but no way to edit htm.
I can upload a mp4, but just get a 404 msg in the browser.
My host, eHost, which usually responds to tech queries within hours, has been ignoring me for days.
This is my most recent message to them:
Too weird. Just now I tried this:
I changed the page in question from .htm to .txt.
I deleted the htm version on the server.
I successfully uploaded the now-txt page.
I changed it back to htm on the server (apparently successfully as I got a msg it worked, and it displays that htm url).
Again, the only thing that displays online is the unedited version from several days ago. Which has been repeatedly deleted and "overwritten".
I checked in 2 browsers to make sure it wasn't a browser malfunction.
I tried installing an FTP client in my mom's 32-bit Windows laptop, but that is not easy. The FileZilla for 32-bit installer does nothing at all to install anything. 32-bit clients seem hard to find that work. I tried a couple others that are dead-ends.

I hope it is not some kind of hacking....

still no answer from the support?

Back online!
Support never replied, so 6 days later i called them.
They can't figure it out either, but suggested i use their online File Manager. Duh! I had not even thought of that, because i have always just used an FTP client on my hard drive.

This is funny and slightly embarrassing. I figured out what happened. Back in May or June i switched to a different host. I had to reconfigure my FTP client on my desktop but never did on my laptop. I didn't notice it still had the old host name, user ID, and password.
So all this time i was uploading to the old server! iPage never deleted my account or website, and my website is still on their server! Also i downloaded off the old server.

Glad to see you got the issues figured out. Lol
