I'm not an expert at evaluating photos, so you decide. But it looks to me (judging from his nose, mouth, and chin) that he was facing the camera directly, then not only his left ear but parts of his face were morphed to make it appear he is tilting his face to his right. Then again, facial asymmetry is common.
In any case, that ear seems larger than it should be. Or the other one too small.
